La San Lazzaro ODV ha finanziato, con i fondi del 5 per mille, la ristrutturazione ed ammodernamento della clinica neonatale di Umuacha, in Nigeria.

I fondi sono stati trasferiti presso il conto della Diocesi di Alba ed il progetto sarà supervisionato dallo stesso Vescovo di Aba, Mons. Augustine Ndubueze Echema, e coordinato da don Christian Israel, un sacerdote di quella località.

La diocesi di Aba (in latino Dioecesis Abana) è una sede della Chiesa cattolica in Nigeria suffraganea dell'arcidiocesi di Owerri. Nel 2022 contava 454.000 battezzati su 1.191.000 abitanti. È retta dal vescovo Augustine Ndubueze Echema.

La diocesi è stata eretta il 2 aprile 1990 con la bolla Praeteritis quidem di papa Giovanni Paolo II, ricavandone il territorio dalla diocesi di Umuahia. Il 26 marzo 1994 è entrata a far parte della provincia ecclesiastica dell'arcidiocesi di Owerri.

San Lazzaro ODV has financed, with funds from the 5 per thousand taxpayer tax (five per thousand), the renovation and modernization of the neonatal clinic in Umuacha, Nigeria.

The funds were transferred to the account of the Diocese of Alba, and the project will be overseen by the Bishop of Aba, Most Rev. Augustine Ndubueze Echema, and coordinated by Father Christian Israel, a priest from that area.

The Diocese of Aba (Latin: Dioecesis Abana) is a see of the Catholic Church in Nigeria, a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Owerri. In 2022, it had 454,000 baptized members out of a population of 1,191,000. It is governed by Bishop Augustine Ndubueze Echema.

The diocese was established on April 2, 1990, with the papal bull Praeteritis quidem issued by Pope John Paul II, deriving its territory from the Diocese of Umuahia. On March 26, 1994, it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Owerri.
