INVESTITURE NEL GRAN BALIATO DI SCOZIA

Sabato 3 maggio 2025, al sorgere del sole sull'antica città scozzese di Stirling, ha avuto inizio un nuovo capitolo per il Gran Baliato di Scozia: la splendida Holy Trinity Episcopal Church di epoca vittoriana, situata ai piedi di Castle Hill, ha ospitato l'investitura di S.E. Dame Mary Kenyon a nuovo Gran Balì dell'Ordine in Scozia.

Le investiture in tutto il mondo sono un'occasione per celebrare il lavoro, il mandato e la storia dell'Ordine, lodare Dio per il suo sostegno all'Ordine nell'era moderna, accogliere nuove persone nella famiglia dell'Ordine e promuovere coloro che continuano a servire i nostri scopi caritatevoli. Tra gli ospiti erano presenti il Lord Provost di Stirling, il Lord Dean of Guild, il Lord Lyon King of Arms, il Vice Luogotenente Gaston Iffla in rappresentanza di S.M. Carlo III ,e in particolare in questa occasione, il Gran Commendatore dell'Ordine, S.E. Kenneth Moritsugu, giunto dagli Stati Uniti in rappresentanza del Gran Maestro per presiedere l'investitura.

Dopo l'improvvisa scomparsa del Gran Balì S.E. Roy Scott, avvenuta nel maggio 2024 mentre era in carica, la funzione ha reso omaggio al suo lavoro, alla sua memoria, alla sua famiglia e alla sua eredità di persona totalmente impegnata nel lavoro dell'Ordine.

S.E. Dame Mary Kenyon ha ricevuto l'investitura di Gran Balì dal Gran Commendatore in una cerimonia commovente e speciale, scegliendo di prestare giuramento sulla stessa Bibbia che i suoi genitori avevano usato al loro matrimonio nel 1947.

L'investitura ha dato il benvenuto a nuovi membri e a un certo numero di promozioni, prima di ritirarsi in un hotel vicino per un pranzo molto piacevole, dove durante il suo brindisi il Gran Commendatore ha sottolineato l'importanza di servire coloro che sono nel bisogno, incoraggiando la creatività e la motivazione nel sostenere il lavoro dell'Ordine, mentre il suo profilo internazionale e le sue opere di beneficenza e di soccorso continuano a progredire e ad aumentare.

INVESTITURES IN THE GRAND BAILIWICK OF SCOTLAND

As the sun rose over the ancient Scottish City of Stirling on Saturday 03 May, so too commenced a new chapter for the Grand Bailiwick of Scotland, as the beautiful Victorian-era Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, nestled at the foot of Castle Hill, played host to the 2025 Investiture of HE Dame Mary Kenyon as the Order’s new Grand Bailiff in Scotland.

Investitures around the world serve as opportunities to celebrate the work, remit and history of the Order, praise God for his support of the Order in the modern age, welcome new individuals into the Order’s family and promote those who continue to serve our charitable aims and so it was a morning full of kinship, celebration and occasion. VIP guests included the Lord Provost of Stirling, the Lord Dean of Guild, the Lord Lyon King of Arms, Deputy Lieutenant Gaston Iffla representing HM King Charles III, and notably on this occasion the Grand Commander of the Order, HE Kenneth Moritsugu, who had travelled from the United States on behalf of the Grand Master to preside over the investiture.

Following the sudden passing of Grand Bailiff HE Roy Scott in May 2024 while in Office, the Service paid tribute to his work, memory, family and legacy as someone who was wholly committed to the work of the Order. HE Dame Mary Kenyon was invested as Grand Bailiff by the Grand Commander in a moving and special ceremony, choosing to take her oath on the same Bible her own parents had used at their wedding in 1947. 

The Investiture welcomed new Members as well as a number of promotions, before retiring to a nearby hotel for a most enjoyable lunch, where during his toast the Grand Commander remarked on the importance of serving those who are in need, and encouraging creativity and motivation in bolstering the work of the Order, as its international profile and charitable/ relief works continue to progress and augment.
