AVVIO DEL DIALOGO PER LA RIUNIFICAZIONE DELL’ORDINE
DI SAN LAZZARO DI GERUSALEMME

Si è svolto la scorsa settimana, presso la Cancelleria dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro a Madrid, un incontro tra Sua Eccellenza Don Francisco de Borbón von Hardenberg e Sua Eccellenza il Conte Jan Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz, in rappresentanza delle rispettive Obbedienze, per l’avvio del dialogo che dovrebbe condurre alla riunificazione fra i due più importanti rami dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro.C

L’incontro si è svolto in spirito fraterno ed amichevole ed i due Gran Maestri hanno identificato scopi e obiettivi comuni. Entrambe le parti sono determinate a trovare una soluzione e un percorso comune per raggiungere l'obiettivo della riunificazione.

Sono previsti ulteriori incontri.

L’Obbedienza di Orléans, della quale è capo il Conte Jan Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz, è nata nel 2004, con il distacco di un gruppo di cavalieri da quella di Parigi e con la formazione di un nuovo gruppo sotto la guida del principe Carlo Filippo, duca d'Angiò, con il ripristino della protezione temporale del capo della Casa Reale di Francia, Henri d'Orléans, conte di Parigi, zio del duca d'Angiò.a

Nel 2008 le Obbedienze di Malta e Parigi si sono formalmente riunite con l’elezione del nuovo Gran Maestro Don Carlos Gereda y de Borbón e la conferma della protezione spirituale di Gregorio III Laham, il Patriarca greco-melchita di Antiochia a quel tempo.

Nel 2010, il Duca di Anjou, Gran Maestro dell’obbedienza d’Orléans si dimise da Gran Maestro per diventare Gran Maestro Emerito, e gli successe suo zio materno, il conte Jan Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz, attuale Gran Maestro.

STARTING THE DIALOGUE FOR THE REUNIFICATION OF THE ORDER
OF SAINT LAZARUS OF JERUSALEM

Last week, at the Chancellery of the Order of St. Lazarus in Madrid, a meeting took place between His Excellency Don Francisco de Borbón von Hardenberg and His Excellency Count Jan Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz, representing their respective Obediences, to start the dialogue that should lead to the reunification of the two most important branches of the Order of St. Lazarus.

The meeting took place in a fraternal and friendly spirit and the two Grand Masters identified common goals and objectives. Both parties are determined to find a solution and a common path to achieve the goal of reunification.

The Orléans Obedience, of which Count Jan Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz is the head, was born in 2004, with the detachment of a group of knights from the Paris Obedience and the formation of a new group under the leadership of Prince Charles Philippe, Duke of Anjou, with the restoration of the temporal protection of the head of the Royal House of France, Henri d'Orléans, Count of Paris, uncle of the Duke of Anjou.

In 2008, the Obediences of Malta and Paris were formally reunited with the election of the new Grand Master Don Carlos Gereda y de Borbón and the confirmation of the spiritual protection of Gregory III Laham, the Greek-Melchite Patriarch of Antioch at the time.

In 2010, the Duke of Anjou, Grand Master of the Orléans Obedience resigned as Grand Master to become Grand Master Emeritus, and was succeeded by his maternal uncle, Count Jan Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz, the current Grand Master.
