MESSAGGIO DI SALUTO DEL NUOVO GRAN PRIORE ECCLESIASTICO AL SUO PREDECESSORE

Eccellenza,

Che gentile da parte vostra scrivere dopo la mia nomina come vostro successore nel nostro grande Ordine di San Lazzaro.

Spero, come diciamo in inglese, di poter, per grazia di Dio, 'mettermi nei vostri panni' e svolgere il lavoro di Gran Priore Ecclesiastico con cura, amore e distinzione.

Devo ammettere che non parlo italiano, quindi sto usando una macchina di traduzione per scrivervi. Cercherò di imparare!

Attendo con ansia l'incontro in Sicilia a gennaio, e sono lieto che rimaniate nel Consiglio di Ecumenismo. Avrò certamente bisogno del vostro aiuto e consiglio mentre procediamo insieme.

Possa la nostra Santa Madre e San Lazzaro pregare per tutti noi!

GREETING MESSAGE FROM THE NEW GRAND PRIOR ECCLESIASTICAL TO HIS PREDECESSOR

Your Excellency,

How kind of you to write following my appointment as your successor in our great Order of Saint Lazarus.

I hope, as we say in English, that by God's grace I will be able to “walk in your shoes” and carry out the work of Grand Prior Ecclesiastical with care, love and distinction.

I must admit that I do not speak Italian, so I am using a translation machine to write to you. I will try to learn!

I look forward to meeting you in Sicily in January, and I am delighted that you are remaining on the Council for Ecumenism. I will certainly need your help and advice as we proceed together.

May our Holy Mother and Saint Lazarus pray for us all!
