CERIMONIA DI INVESTITURA NEL GRAN PRIORATO DI INGHILTERRA E GALLES

L'Investitura di Primavera del Gran Priorato d'Inghilterra e Galles si è tenuta sabato 15 aprile 2023 nella Chiesa Parrocchiale di St Mary Magdalene, Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, Inghilterra.

Il servizio è stato guidato dal Reverendo Canonico Brendan Clover SChLJ, OMLJ Cappellano Generale del Gran Priorato. Il predicatore è stato il Rev.mo Padre Ian Evans ECLJ, Cappellano Generale Emerito CMLJ. L'ufficiale investitore era il Gran Priore d'Inghilterra e Galles, l'Onorevole Marchese di Lothian PC, GCLJ, GCMLJ, KC, DL assistito dall'ufficiale giudiziario, Sua Eccellenza il Cavaliere Charles Holloway GCLJ, KMLJ. I postulanti sono stati investiti e sono state presentate le promozioni ed i premi.

Al termine della cerimonia, il Gran Priore ha reso omaggio al Balì che si ritirerà dall'incarico alla fine dell'anno e ha annunciato che il Cavaliere Dr David Woolf KCLJ, OMLJ Vice Balì e Comandante del Galles diventerà il nuovo Balì del Gran Priorato d'Inghilterra e Galles.

La Chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena, a Newark-on-Trent, è la struttura più alta della città.

NATIONAL INVESTITURE GRAND PRIORY OF ENGLAND & WALES

(Parish Church of St Mary Magdalene, Newark-on-Trent)

The Grand Priory of England and Wales's Spring Investiture was held on Saturday 15th April 2023 at the Parish Church of St Mary Magdalene, Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, England.

The service was led by The Reverend Canon Brendan Clover SChLJ, OMLJ Chaplain-General of the Grand Priory. The Preacher was The Very Revd Fr Ian Evans ECLJ, CMLJ Chaplain-General Emeritus who deliver an inspiring sermon. The Investing Officer was the Grand Prior of England and Wales, The Most Honourable the Marquis of Lothian PC, GCLJ, GCMLJ, KC, DL assisted by the Bailiff, His Excellency the Chevalier Charles Holloway GCLJ, KMLJ. Postulants were invested and well deserved promotions and awards were presented.

At the end of the ceremony, the Grand Prior paid tribute to the Bailiff who will be retiring from office later this year and announced that Chevalier Dr David Woolf KCLJ, OMLJ Deputy Bailiff and Commander of Wales will then become the new Bailiff of the Grand Priory of England & Wales.

The Church of St Mary Magdalene, Newark-on-Trent, is tallest structure in the town.

St Mary Magdalene's is an active parish church, with nine services per week and serving the community with youth and children's programmes. The church has a ring of bells, fine organ and a choir founded in 1532.
